Everyone authorised to undertake restricted sanitary plumbing, gasfitting or drainlaying work must carry their NZ Practising Licence and are required to produce it when you ask to see it.
It’s illegal to do this type of restricted work without a license and the fines are hefty — $10,000 – $50,000! So call a professional and make sure they really are one – ask to see their NZ Practising Licence.
